Tools are used to work in your garden. The shovel is the first tool you receive in the game. It can be used to whack hard soil, poke/whack piñata, tap/smash objects, dig holes & ponds and cut grass. As your gardener level improves, so too does the strength and appearance of your shovel. You will also receive a watering can, which is required to water most plants and make some creatures happy. It will also be upgraded as you progress. The surface packet is used to plant grass and long grass. Some piñatas like the mousemallow, horstachio, and syrupent require a certain amount of grass to be attracted to the garden.
